Renderer Types
GenesisII supports two types of renderer.
Fractal Renderer
This renderer generates a photorealistic landscape image by accurately modeling the earth's atmosphere and adding detail onto the surface using fractalization techniques. The Fractal renderer also understands basic ecological concepts and can realistically place vegetation. Terrains and 3D models can also be used to increase realism and model the real world.
To help you generate realistic images quickly and easily GenesisII you can use the Environment Wizard to control your worlds environment in easily understood concepts.
Overlay Renderer
The overlay renderer draws the landscape without any fractalization, but overlays (or texture maps) an image onto the surface. This approach is useful for generating 3D images of topographic maps or satellite images.
